Acting Level Two, Certificate of Achievement (C)
The Certificate of Achievement in Acting Level Two provides students with the foundational knowledge in the area of script analysis, acting for theatre and acting for the camera. No audition is required to enroll. There are a variety of career opportunities for students completing this certificate. The objective of the certificate is to demonstrate skill, experience and education in the area of acting in order to promote hiring in the area of theatre, film, television, and other media platforms.
Certificate of Achievement Requirements
Complete all Department Requirements for the Certificate of Achievement with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better. Candidates for a Certificate of Achievement are required to complete at least 20% of the department requirements through SBCC.

- Analyze a scene by identifying beats and climaxes and delineating character.
- Integrate stage business into a realistic scene.
- Complete sequence of assignments in order to effectively create a scene, from the written page to performance, including scene analysis, memorization, implementation of blocking, prop utilization and character development.
- Demonstrate at an intermediate level of mastery the skills necessary to successfully compete in actor auditions.
