Certificate of Achievement Requirements
Complete all Department Requirements for the Certificate of Achievement with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better. Candidates for a Certificate of Achievement are required to complete at least 20% of the department requirements through SBCC.

- Identify and incorporate the principles of composition and 2D and 3D art including balance, rhythm, pattern, emphasis, contrast, unity and movement in their work.
- Identify and effectively use the techniques and methods and various media and technologies of art making.
- Recognize and use appropriate language for evaluation and critique of art.
- Analyze the social, cultural and economic conditions of art production.
