Advanced Photo Design, Skills Competency Award (SCA)
The Skills Competency Award in Advanced Photo Design reflects advanced-level skills in Photographic Digital Imaging, Professional Color Management and Graphic Design principles. In addition, advanced Studio Lighting skills and an understanding of the History of Design.
Multiple opportunities within profession photography studios, design studios, advertising agencies and corporate industries that deal in rich media.
Skills Competency Award Requirements
Complete all Major Requirements with a “C” or higher or "P" in each course. Candidates for a Skills Competency Award are required to complete at least 20% of the major requirements through SBCC.

- Demonstrate organizational skills for digital image management (workflow, archiving and color management).
- Demonstrate studio lighting control for product and people.
- Demonstrate knowledge of History of Design as it relates to Graphics and Photography.
- Demonstrate exhibition quality printing, including color correction and image enhancements/manipulations as well as the ability to apply specific corrections to a variety of output choices.
